Grand Opening

August 19, 2005 (Saint Paul, Minn.) - Dr. Roger Buzbee and his brother, Dr. Gary Buzbee are the owners of a new state-of-the-art dental office, which opened in April. Dr. Gary's sons, Dr. Todd Buzbee and Dr. Tyler Buzbee also practice in the new facility. The office is located just off National Avenue in Southern Springfield. Grand opening ceremonies included an appearance by Missouri Governor Matt Blunt.

This out-of-the-ordinary dental office was featured on the cover of the fall issue of Patterson Today, a national magazine for the dental industry that focuses on unique dental office design and the latest in dental equipment. "In my 20 years as publisher of this magazine, I've never seen a dental office as spectacular as this one," said Todd Mueller, Patterson Dental corporate communications manager. "Its futuristic design along with the technology and equipment they have integrated combine to make this dental office stand out from the rest - not just in Missouri, but in the entire country."

Designed by Doug Jackson from the architectural firm of Butler, Rosenbury and Partners, the maintenance-free exterior is made of pre-cast concrete, imported glass and steel panels. The interior features 16 patient treatment areas that are equipped with an impressive array of dental technology. The front and back office areas are connected with Patterson EagleSoft clinical and practice management software.

In an effort to separate the business portion of the practice from the treatment rooms, the building is designed with two private consultation rooms and a spacious reception and check-out area.

"Using digital X-ray and intraoral cameras is wonderful and patients absolutely love it," said Dr. Gary Buzbee. "We also have computer-assisted chairside patient education in every treatment room. I believe patients want their dentist to be up-to-date and to have the latest technology. It's a little early to tell, but our productivity is meeting expectations, and I believe technology is part of the reason."

Missouri dental office combines technology and design to produce a winning practice.

Buzbee Dental is the featured covered story in the Dental Office March/April 2007 publication for winning the 2006 Dental Office Design Competition category for best selection, integration, and use (or plan for use) of dental technology for practice needs and objectives. For a patient visiting this unique 16-operatory facility for the first time, it is immediately apparent that technology, contemporary esthetics, and state-of-the-art dental care are high priorities of the Buzbee dental team. The exterior building shell is a combination of striking architectural shapes and forms veneered in panelized building systems leading to powerful geometries and “gi-normous” curb appeal.
